Tutorial Tuesday: How to Achieve Matte Film Look on Photoshop

These days film is making a comeback. Some are literally taking up their film cameras again, but for others, it's about imitating film as close as they can with post-processing. I'm going to show you how to achieve the "matte" film look on Photoshop. For the new comers on the block, the "matte" look refers to how the blacks are not so black/dark, but varying degrees lighter. I'm subtle in my adjustments, but you can still tell the difference with the photo examples below. If not, then try adjusting the contrast on your screen. It does make a difference that your monitors are calibrated properly.
