Top 5 Chic & Affordable Fashion Boutiques
One question I get asked almost every time before a photoshoot is...
"What should I wear?"
So for the next few months, I'll be blogging a lot about this exact subject. After all, what photographer doesn't want her clients turning up at photoshoots dressed in chic & fashionable clothing. However, before you purchase anything from these stores, please check out "What Not to Wear for Photos". It'll do you lot of good to know what to avoid.This post only covers boutiques and up-and-coming online stores. There are many major brands I love and enjoy that aren't included. There will be a blog post for that later.Keeping it real, I also selected these boutiques because they are affordable. The average price of an outfit is under $100. Score!
1. SHOP RUCHE - {Soft, Romantic, Vintage-Inspired}
Without a doubt, Ruche has one of the the best looking lookbooks. Many of them have inspired and influenced my own photography journey. Ruche's color palette leans towards pastels. Over this past year, I have purchased numerous outfits and accessories from them to style my shoots. They've got excellent customer service, and I quite enjoy their blog as well.
2. MURA BOUTIQUE - {Bold, Colorful, City Chic}
If you want to dress like your life is straight out of pinterest, this boutique would be a good place to shop. Their clothes are definitely eye-catching because of the bright colors. Expect a few heads to turn when you wear their outfits. It's trendy, fun, and perfect for an city chic/urban photoshoot. The company is based in Australia, but shipping is only $15 . However, don't buy too much at one time, or you'll have to pay customs for a lot more. Miss Bailey rocked some of their outfits for her high school senior shoot.
3. SHOP AKIRA - {Trendy, Sexy, Glamorous}
Based in Chicago, Akira does party-glam quite well. They've got a great selection of dresses for a variety of events. Their clothing is vivacious, attention-grabbing, and exudes confidence. If that's you, then click the link above.
4. FASHION TO FIGURE - {Curvy, Confident, Smart}
For my curvy girls, it would be a crime to not mention Fashion to Figure. Their clothing accentuates the waist and is extremely fit conscious. The other brand that does the same is Torrid, which also has a lot of fantastic outfits for women/teens sizes 12-28.
5. THREADSENCE - {Flowy, Laid-back, Boho-chic}
Threadsence is perfect for the artsy/creative girls. Their clothing always exudes a too-cool-to-care attitude, and it smells like teen spirit. Their lookbooks inspire a care-free life style with little bit of drama and rebellion. If you like attending concerts and music festivals, this brand is made for you. They've liken themselves to brands like Urban Outfitters and Free People, but in my honest opinion, but they're much more unique and definitely more affordable.
