How to Choose the Right Headshot
Despite what people say about not judging a book by its covers, most people will still judge by the cover. Your headshots share a lot about you and who you are. Actors, actresses, performers, and public speakers especially need high-quality headshots. It's an investment that will pay you back over and over again. Great photos are part of your branding, and you want your headshot to work FOR you, not against you.I want to write this post to help you choose the right headshots for when you decide to get them done. Choosing your headshots depend largely on how you want to be perceived. Here are some questions to get you started on which photos you should choose to represent you.1) Do I look relatable and inviting?2) Do I look trustworthy and capable?3) Do my eyes look like they have life?4) Do I look like myself? (or maybe...) Is this the most flattering way I can present myself?5) Am I the hero in this photo? (other elements of the photo shouldn't be taking up your spotlight)6) Do I look interesting? Some of you may want to appear warm and inviting in your photos. Others may want to look fierce because you're a feared prosecutor and looking "warm" isn't part of your brand. Either way, first think about how you want to be perceived, what your potential audience would want to see, and select a headshot that represents both your personality and what others may be looking for in you.For example, Jennifer in the top photo want to look younger in her first look so she can be cast for younger roles. We did her hair in a ponytail to feature her fresh glowing face. The second photo in the red dress represents her current look, and is very versatile.Need headshots?
