FAQ: Why Don't You Offer More Photos?
We get asked this question a lot during inquiries. Compared to many photographers, we don't offer a lot of photos. For senior sessions, we typically average 35-60 images per session gallery. This comes as a shock to a lot of people because our industry is saturated with photographers that offer hundreds of photos. So here are a few reasons why we are challenging the status quo:1) We believe in quality over quantity. Quality is important when it is for a special person. We take hundreds of photos during your photoshoot, but we only want to show you the best. Who really cares for half blinking shots and awkward first tries? Would you really want your friends to see those? As artists, we curate your gallery so that we can present you in the best light possible. If you're unconvinced, click HERE to see some photos of the gorgeous Beyonce that she REALLY wish weren't floating around. See what we mean? Just because someone is offering you more doesn't mean you'll be getting more of the best.2) Quality pictures take time to produce. We're extremely thorough with our retouching. Why do you think every one of our senior look like they have flawless skin? Why do their eyes pop with color, and their skin looks rosey. I don't photograph perfect people. I photograph individuals that look like you and me. Even models don't look perfect in real life either. Here's a before & after to show you the difference.Retouching takes time, more time than we spend photographing, ordering, and doing consultations. Some of you at this point are thinking, 'Well isn't retouching wrong? It gives the wrong impression that we have to be perfect.' If that is how you feel, you can just let us know, and we won't retouch. Here is something to consider though, blemishes come and go, but blemishes don't define the person. If a photo is to remain timeless, would you rather temporary blemishes stay in the photograph? Consult with us if this is an issue. We are always happy to accommodate you in this area. Our goal isn't solely to photograph our clients outer appearance. People hire us to bring out their inner light.3) Your photos deserve the attention of an artistFor us, each photo that we deliver is a photo we worked hard on. Because we don't have to process hundreds of photos, we can focus our energy on editing and retouching your very best photos to the highest of standards. It doesn't happen frequently, but occasionally we'll get people asking to give them unedited images. That is not a request we honor. Honestly, we are not trying to be inflexible, we just like to deliver finished products. An example of that in another profession would be like a hair stylist only trimming one side of your hair and saying..."Here, you cut the rest." We won't be doing you any favors by giving you unedited photos. Surprisingly, a lot of photographers that call themselves professional don't edit photos or don't even know how to. Please be careful when you're looking to hire one.Photographers are a dime in a dozen. We may have similar looking equipment, but it doesn't mean we share the same experience. You deserve only quality images, not a gallery of mediocre ones.More is not always better.
